The ongoing pandemic of Covid- 19 has been a big threat to facilitate the healthcare provisions to the HIV IDU’s. They are considered to be one of the most vulnerable sections suffering from various health related disorders including- HIV/ AIDS and Hepatitis infection. HIV IDU remains unvaccinated because of the existing social discrimination and stigma attached to them. Though there are various schemes available for them but the benefits remain unreached. Therefore, sensitization and spreading awareness is very much essential to curb out the disease as well as stigma. Global Organisation for Life Development(GOLD) in partnership with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) had decided to launch a program of COVID vaccination targeting the most marginalized communities of the society. The high- risk communities like HIV positive persons, Drug users, Female Sex Workers and Men who have Sex with Men, LGBTQIA+ are highly reluctant to attend the conventional health care facilities due to fear of stigma and discrimination.
