The organization had organized a neuro surgical camp for the children with cerebral palsy from 18th January to 21st January of 2001. This mega camp was organized at Guwahati Refinery Hospital. Guwahati Medical College and Sishu Sarathi, a local NGOs had helped to organize two screening camps for screening of the children for the surgical camp. These screening camps were attended by neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists from Guwahati Medical College and 250 children with cerebral palsy were screened for the main camp. The surgical camp was attended by Dr A.K Purohit, the president of Indian Family of cerebral palsy an eminent surgeon from Nizam’s institute of Medical Science, Hyderabad. The camp was also attended by Dr MKC Nair, the pioneer pediatrician in the field of childhood disability of India. Four children with spasticity were operated as a pilot project.
